Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Gospel of Christ…standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the Gospel. Phil 1:27
Midwest Connection May 6-8,. 2015 Chicago IL Come and be encouraged, resourced and refreshed.
Welcome to Midwest Church Planting Ministry. As of 2012 the Midwest is home to 203 churches, 40 of which are currently mission churches, in 12 of the 13 states of the region. I work with key leaders in the region, including presbytery MNA chairmen and network leaders, to resource and support these church planters and to devise initiatives for new church plants. I also help presbyteries and networks to develop and cast a vision that is regionally and denominationally strategic. Resourcing and providing training for the leaders and church planters is the fourth major focus of the ministry. In addition, recruiting church planters for the region is an ongoing priority.
The Midwest Vision
That God, by His Spirit, through the cooperative prayers and efforts of the Midwest churches, will ignite a powerful church planting and vitalization movement that impacts the entire region with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helps transform the face of the PCA
i.e. to see such a movement of the Spirit in our Presbyteries and churches, in every state, city, and town, that so many people are won to Christ, and so many churches are planted that our society, our nation, and even the world, feels the impact and the PCA becomes a truly multicultural denomination, to the glory of God.
Who We Are
I am Ted Powers, Midwest Church Planting Ministry Coordinator. In 1997, I began as a volunteer Regional Coordinator for MNA while pastoring the church I planted in suburban Chicago. I joined MNA full time in 2002 and remain Church Planting Coordinator.
Administrative support and event planning is provided by Ann Powers, my wife, and my assistant in Midwest ministry since 1997.
How You Can Help
Churches, presbyteries, and individuals in the Midwest Region currently support a budget that includes operating funds as well as a portion of my and Ann’s salaries.
We consider the Midwest region to be strategic in many ways to the health and overall ministry impact of the PCA across North America. We have deep roots in the region in ministry and a love for the people of the Midwest. We invite your support as we seek to be catalysts for healthy Biblical church planting and growth in this vast and spiritually hungry region, the “heart of America”.
