One local church in St. Louis MO has an amazing ministry among immigrants. New City Fellowship South City, where Kevin VandenBrink serves as Lead Pastor, includes both African Americans and Anglo Americans, as well as people from Nepal, Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), and various countries in Africa. If you ever attend one of their Sunday worship services you will hear songs, prayers, and scripture in many different languages.
The Thanksgiving Offering helped to pay a small stipend to Daniel Thangpui, who takes Pastor VandenBrink’s sermon notes each week and then translates the sermons as the pastor preaches the sermon to the people from Myanmar. While these people are assimilating into American culture they can still hear the Word of God preached in their own language so that they can understand the Gospel and grow in grace.
