Prayer

May all the kings of the earth praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth. May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.   Psalm 138:4,5
Praise that the Lord has provided such wonderful relationships and strategic opportunities for the Presbyterian Church in America to serve those in government with the gospel.

Pray that the Lord would guide and direct this emerging global work as churches and missions consider how they might interact as friends to those in government.

The Lord continually allows new relationships to develop for Chuck and Debby with those in the Washington government community. Pray that their Christ will transform the hearts of their new friends and draw them to saving relationship with Him.

Prayer on Capitol Hill

"How does one encourage the leadership, people in power, to spend time in prayer? You may think this is an oxymoron. Since living in the District of Columbia we have facilitated 12 State Prayer Breakfasts on Capitol Hill. Each event has drawn about 80-100 persons connected with the particular state." In his most recent newsletter, Chuck Garriott reflects on how Ministry to State encourages our leaders to pray, and reports on encouraging meetings with members of Congress. Click here to read more.

Book Offers Guide to Praying for Our President.

We need wisdom on how to best encourage the church and its members to pray more intelligently, thoughtfully and persistently for President Barack Obama. Ministry to State Director Chuck Garriot has authored a book of petitions based on proverbs to encourage prayer and reflection.
