Cheryl resides in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she grew up and was involved in missions in her teens. Later she joined Mission to the World (MTW), serving in deaf ministry in Jamaica for seven years and in MTW’s medical department in Atlanta for eight years, sending short-term medical teams overseas.

She returned home to Lancaster in 2013 to help care for her aging parents who were experiencing several health issues, including Alzheimer’s. She joined the staff of Engaging Disability With The Gospel at that time as the ministry assistant. She uses her administrative gifts, missionary background, and family experiences serving people affected by disability, with a special burden for caregivers.

She attends Wheatland Presbyterian Church where she helps with the church’s disability ministry efforts.
