MNA Disaster Response has provided supplies and big equipment, along with First Responder Teams to help with assessments and other needs in FL as a result of Hurricane Milton. Hundreds of Flood Buckets along with fans, generators, and many other supplies have been sent to FL, many in the Tampa area. One of our PCA churches gave buckets out to the homeowners living along a major river that flooded into their homes. As a result seven of the families came to their church the following Sunday to participate in worship!! And that is just ONE story of many!!!!!! God truly does work through the storms for His glory!!!!
In FL our Regional Specialist, Keith Perry, has been working with local churches to prepare for the certain coming storms long in advance. Fortunately, many of these churches have put a preparation plan in place. The result is that we have been able to utilize local volunteer teams to help meet these initial needs.
The ongoing needs from this storm will be primarily financial as church properties deal with exorbitant deductibles and congregants deal with homeowner insurance policies denying any coverage. Because properties were hit by two storms back to back there is virtually no way in many cases to know what damage was caused by which storm. This has resulted in denial of coverage in many cases. MNA Disaster Response is working with pastors and PCA congregants to help determine how best to help with this tremendous need.
