Lawrenceville, GA – Angela Pacey has been named the new MNA Refugee and Immigrant Ministry Director, effective November 1, 2024. Angela succeeds Pat Hatch, whose many years of faithful leadership have greatly shaped this ministry. Angela brings with her a deep passion for ministry and a wealth of experience in leading community-based initiatives that serve and support refugee families.
For the past three years, Angela has led a dynamic team from Christ Covenant Church (CCC) in Matthews, NC, in their ministry to the Afghan refugee community in the greater Charlotte area. What began as a simple effort to deliver food to newly arrived families has grown into a multifaceted outreach program with over 400 volunteers. Together, they have served more than 120 Afghan families, providing practical assistance such as ESL classes, driving instruction for Afghan women, an afterschool tutoring program, and ongoing donation drives to meet household needs.
Reflecting on her journey, Angela shares, “In addition to what God has done for Afghans through our team, He has also done amazing work in the lives of the volunteers and the church. We have each grown in our faith in ways we could never have imagined!”
Angela has been a member of Christ Covenant Church for over 36 years, serving faithfully and leading numerous mercy ministries. She holds multiple graduate degrees, including a master’s degree in religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Angela is also a dedicated wife of 36 years, a mother to four adult children, and a proud grandmother. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, international travel, and spending time with her granddaughter.
Dr. Irwyn L. Ince, Jr., MNA Coordinator, shared his enthusiasm for Angela’s new role: “It is a great joy to welcome Angela Pacey as the new MNA Refugee and Immigrant Ministry Director. Angela’s deep commitment to Christ and her proven leadership in serving the vulnerable make her uniquely equipped for this role. I am excited to see how God will continue to work through Angela and the ministry as they help churches across the PCA engage with refugees and immigrants in their communities with the love and hope of the Gospel. I also extend my immense gratitude to Pat Hatch for her many years of faithful leadership of this ministry. I am delighted to say that she will continue to serve in an emeritus role.”
Angela began her position as MNA Refugee and Immigrant Ministry Director on November 1, 2024. Please join us in praying for her as she steps into this important role, and for the flourishing of ministry efforts to bring the Gospel of Christ to refugees and immigrants in North America.
