Robert Blevins was a history teacher and coach for 13 years in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Feeling a call to ministry, he went on to become the program director at Hope for the Inner City, (a community development organization) for four years. These experiences in under-resourced communities prepared him to understand the unique challenges of walking with disenfranchised communities.
In 2012, he supported the growth of the New City Network as Community Development Director, where he equipped church leaders to engage low-income neighborhoods using a developmental, non-paternalistic approach. From 2018 – 2023, he was the Director of Missions at Southwood Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, AL. In 2024, Robert began two new roles as the Executive Director of the New City Network, and the Mercy Ministries Director for Mission to North America. Robert and his wife Denine live in New York City with their dog Sydney.
